David Hall-Matthews - The strong Social Liberal voice that our party NEEDS.

Fellow Social Liberals,

This is a critical time for the Liberal Democrats. Decisions taken on strategy, tactics, structure and policy in the next year will determine the future of our party. What to we want to be? What our unchangeable core values? To whom do we want to appeal? How successful can we aim to be, locally, regionally and nationally? Do we have the resources and capacity to achieve our goals?

It is no secret that there are a range of different views on where we should be trying to go next, how to do it and what we need to do now to rebuild our base.

There is also a structural problem in the party - committees without clear purposes, powers or accountability; blurred decision-making systems and fatal uncertainty over key responsibilities.

It is essential to have a strong, effective Social Liberal voice on FE and FPC. We need to drive the change the party needs, in the direction that will make us a strong, Social Liberal party again. As the Chair of SLF when it went from 100 to 2000 members, I can be relied upon to be that voice. Please give me your first preference vote.

i'm also standing for the International Relations Committee. If we'd listened better to our counterparts in Europe and beyond, we would have saved ourselves a lot of heartache. I'm also a professional expert in democracy, accountability and transparency across the world.
