Statement following SLF AGM

Yesterday the SLF AGM was held in Reading. Despite reports to the contrary no emergency motions were submitted and no resolutions passed. The claim in Andrew Rawnsley’s piece in the Observer today stating that the SLF are planning to call for a special conference is wrong. This is not and has never been the case.

It seems that all of this is a distraction anyway – only a motion from a Local Party or an SAO would have any bearing on the party’s constitutional procedure to remove the Leader. While both of these moves would be very welcome, since SLF is not a recognised SAO, an SLF motion of support would be purely symbolic.
